Every term at Aotearoa Infinite Academy, something shifts. Students arrive at the start with questions, and leave at the end with something far more valuable than answers. They leave with the ability to think more deeply, see more clearly, and understand fully the world they are growing up in.
This term was no different. Across every subject, our students have been doing work that genuinely matters.
The Power of a Critical Mind
In English, students have spent the term developing one of the most important skills a young person can have in 2026: the ability to think critically about the information in front of them. They have explored propaganda, brainwashing, and persuasion, examining how language can be used to manipulate belief and shape understanding. They have learned to evaluate the credibility of sources, to ask who is speaking, why they are speaking, and what might be missing from the picture.
These are not just academic skills. These are life skills. They are the tools of an informed, independent thinker. And that is exactly what our students are becoming.
Numbers, Patterns, and the Beauty of Mathematics
In Mathematics, students across all year levels have been exploring content that reveals just how elegant and logical the world really is. Senior students have been working through graphs, calculus, algebra, and functions, building the mathematical foundations that will carry them through their NCEA externals later in the year. Junior students have been exploring areas, perimeters, bearings, and the geometry that underpins so much of the physical world around us.
Mathematics at Infinite Academy is about developing the kind of structured, logical thinking that serves students in every area of their lives.
Across every year level, the goal has been the same: not just to get the right answer, but to understand why it is right.
Science That Connects to the Real World
The Science lessons this term has taken students from the smallest structures of life to the largest systems on Earth. Genetics and cell biology. Ecology and energy flow. Body systems, chemical reactions, electricity, and electromagnetism.
What connects all of it is a genuine spirit of inquiry. Our Science teachers do not just deliver content. They invite students into the questions that science is still trying to answer, and they do it in a way that makes the complexity feel exciting rather than overwhelming.
Creativity That Deserves to Be Seen
In Visual Art, students have been developing their artistic practice with real depth and intention. Their works are being published on our junior and senior art sites, a public celebration of the creativity and skill our students bring to everything they make. The talent on display is something to be proud of.
Knowing Yourself, Leading Others
Perhaps the most quietly powerful learning happening this term has been that our Senior students have spent time exploring their own character strengths through the VIA Character Strengths Survey, one of the most widely used tools in psychology for understanding what people are naturally good at.
From there, they explored different leadership styles. The leader who consults before deciding. The one who directs with clarity. The one who steps back and trusts. The skill is not picking the right style and sticking to it. It is knowing yourself well enough to know which approach a moment calls for.
This kind of self-awareness is something most people spend decades developing. Our students are building it now.

Looking back on everything our students have explored, created and discovered this term, we are proud of the enthusiasm and commitment they have shown across every learning area.
