The Stage, the Dojo, and the World: Anton and Mila's Story

June 10, 2026
Anton and Mila, Infinite Academy siblings, have had a weekend worth celebrating and we could not wait to share it.

The Performing Arts Stage

At the Oamaru Performing Arts Competition, Anton and Mila delivered results that were nothing short of outstanding. Mila claimed first place in Popular Song and Musical Comedy and first place in the 16-year-old Duet. Anton took home first place in Folk Song, first place in Sacred, the highest points scored in the entire competition, and Most Promising Male Voice. Together, they finished second in the Duet.

It was a remarkable display from two young people who clearly pour everything they have into their craft.

The Karate Mat

And just when we thought the news could not get any better, it did. Both Anton and Mila have been selected for the JKA Karate World Cup training squad. If they make the final team, they will represent New Zealand at the Karate World Cup in Japan in October 2026.

Performing arts and karate are two very different worlds. Both demand discipline, commitment, and courage. Anton and Mila are bringing all three, in abundance.

The Ripple Effect

Stories like Anton and Mila's matter beyond the results. They matter because they show every student watching that it is possible. That you can pursue more than one passion. That you can compete at the highest level and still show up for school. That your ambitions do not have to wait.

That is the kind of inspiration that ripples through a school community. And we could not be more grateful for it.

To Anton and Mila: we are so proud of everything you are achieving. The stage, the dojo, and now the world.
